		<description>[...] Some Koreans like to make a big deal about the Zaytun unit being a visible sign of Korea&#8217;s commitment to the US-ROK alliance.Â  I appreciate the Zaytun soldiers going to Iraq, but bottom line is that they accomplished little in Iraq.Â  If the Korean government allowed the ROK Army to take over the Kirkuk sector of Iraq like the Pentagon originally wanted, I have no doubt in my mind that President Bush and Cheney would be visiting Korea just as much as Japan.Â  However, the Korean government chose the path of being irrelevant by demanding that the Zaytun unit serve in Kurdistan where no harm would come to anyone and they could introduce the Kurds to the wonders of modern indoor plumbing.Â  [...]</description>
