Cedric it is well worth hiking up to the summit and since you will be multiple days it will also be well worth checking out some of the shorter hikes around Osaek or up to Ulsanbawi. Hello,

Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm a 24 young french guy going to Seorak Park in July. I'll stay at a friend house in Sokch'o and then i want to hike in the park for several days. I have read that i should go to inner seorak for that purpose. Do you have any tips for me?

I don't have any hotel recommendations for Sokcho because my wife and I always stayed in Osaek. But for a day visit to the park I recommend taking the gondola to the top of the peak near the park's entrance, stop by the temple, and hike up to Ulsan-bawi. That will fill up your day.

The park is filled with many great sites that can't be seen in a day though and worth a repeat visit. Definitely worth hiking up to the summit if you have the time.

Thank you for your speedy response! I wasn’t expecting it.

I will start looking into staying in Sokcho then, because it is true everything near the park is booked. Do you recommend any places in Sokcho? What about any parts of the park I shouldn’t miss.

I have had a long past couple of weeks and my boyfriend and I are looking to have a peaceful 3 day weekend closer to some natural beauty.

Hi and thanks for visiting the site. If you go to Soraksan on any holiday it will be packed, especially the main entrance area. However, if you are going just to look around and not do any serious hiking, the main entrance area is still worth going to because of the gondola and some of the shorter walks. Since you are going during a holiday you will likely not find anything near the park to stay at. It would be best to stay in Sokcho and take a taxi or bus to the park.

I really enjoyed reading you article

I am thinking of going to this mountain during the Buddha's birthday weekend and I am wondering if you could offer me some advice. I am expecting it to be very crowded, but I would like to know where to go so that I can see and appreciate the nature best. I also would like any advice on where to stay ( how to get there,I did read the part about the Hotel you recomend )
