ROK Drop

Nothing Good Can Come of This

A civic group (korean media code word for anti-American group) has been allowed access to the Korean police investigation into the accident that killed the two middle school girls three years ago. I’m sure they will twist the facts of this case for their own purposes to try and build up public outrage before the June 13th anniversary of the accident.

The twisting of the truth in this case is really amazing. I have had KATUSAs tell me they thought before working with US soldiers that the US soldiers ground guided the tracked vehicle back and forth over the girls bodies because a ROK Army tank commander said so on the news. They believed the US soldiers were all laughing about it and they got in a fight with ROK soldiers at the scene over it. This is just a quick sample of the propaganda and lies put out there to smear the US Army. So don’t expect anything truthful to come out of whatever report this “civic group” puts out this week.

Also here is something I heard through the grapevine. We’ll see on the 13th if it is true or not. You will not see the parents of the two girls killed in the accident at any of the protests. They were contacted by the “civic groups” and they told the civic groups that they wanted them to quit taking advantage of this tragedy for their own gain and would not participate. If true I bet the Korean media won’t report it.

    GI,

Twisting the truth is your forte. Don't be so hard on the Korean truth twisters. Even YOU twist the truth about the general Korean character-structure, in order to preserve your preferred worldview and self-identity as a person of "balanced perspective and fairness". True-believers, such as you, are the greatest distorters of reality.

Eg. By refusing to acknowledge the intrinsic Mafia ethos of Korean culture — you desperately seek contrary examples to disprove your suspicion you may vainly die for inveterate ingrates.

The noble parents of the two children, however, are NOT the exception to Korea's Mafia double standard — they have no impulse towards justice and truth — they are just pissed at "being used"… that's all.

Your desire to transform reality, however, helps me to understand your affinity for cultural cross-dressers — such as the Marmot. People like the Marmot experienced the powerful efficacy of "dress-up" to magically change their perception of themselves and the world. When the Marmot dresses up in Hanbok, he has defied his whiteness and transcended reality. Socialism believes, we mere mortals can transform the world — if we learn to manipulate reality through fantasy. This is truly a magical practice. Now, I can't speak for the Marmot, but … there is usually a history of exchanging clothes with one's sister or secretly putting on a mother's clothes when she was out of the house: the discovery of such magical transformation of identity and reality strongly impresses a child.

I am sure you have felt the magical transformation of putting on a uniform… to feel like a warrior with true convictions.

You see — you and the Marmot are creative twisters of the truth for the hope of a better world.

Now, lets have some empathic tolerance for "Truth twisters" of the world. Don't be so hard on the Koreans.

    At ease, soldier!

If your KATUSA felt that way about the US military prior to him coming into US army unit, then why in the world did he volunteered to be KATUSA? Why does he want to be a member of organization that like to kill teenage girls for fun and laugh about it? I think he was lying. The KATUSA are usually the brighest among the ROK Conscripts and they had to go through very tough selective process. Many of them are from prestigious university in Seoul. If he was telling the truth about his belief then he just contradicted himself by volunteering for KATUSA duty.

The vast majority of the KATUSA's are very good and from prestigous universities but I have seen some where I just wonder how they got selected. The KATUSA I mentioned was probably one of the worst KATUSAs I have seen. He actually hated Korea and couldn't wait to get done with his mandatory service so he can go back to Switzerland. His dad had some important job in Switzerland where he lived for the last 7 years before becoming a KATUSA. He openly admited becoming a KATUSA just so he didn't have to go to the ROK Army and also to better learn English. The battalion ROKA Sergeant Major removed him from his position because he was worthless and made him his own driver to keep him away from the American soldiers who he was leaving a bad impression on with his constant complaining.

I Heard the truth twisters have trained monkeys who write their propaganda around the clock. Every once in a while, one of them hits the nail right on the head. When I get back to the states I am going to start a movement against Korean drivers in the states and rip off people with their markets that sell things labeled "not for individual sale" or sell wrigleys 25 cent gum packs for 50 cents… It will give our stoners something to do when they aren't playing ultimate frisbee.
