I think that GI Korea says it right when talks about not only the logistical problems (building an over 200 kilometer long tunnel over a major fault line) but also the social and traffic headaches this would cause. Another pie in the sky idea to try to win over the simple country folk of Korea (and the not so country stupid city folk).

This idea has been brought up before but something that is going to be a huge complication is definitely the driving on the 'wrong' side of the road thing. Even in American military bases in Japan (or at least in Okinawa) you drive on the right side of the road in accordance with Japanese traffic laws.

GI,

How sweet your naivte. A highway from London to Tokyo is a major dream of Reverand Moon of the Unification Church.

Just as everyone thought it ridiculous Ban Ki Moon could be the UN Secretary General ... so they will eat humble pie once construction starts.

If Reverand Moon can keep the US/ROK alliance together, certainly he can do other miracle$.
