Here is an update on last year’s sexual ass assault case involving a 2nd Infantry Divison MP. Talk about a stupid criminal:
A soldier struck a 21-year-old South Korea woman with a frying pan, then fled in his underwear after unlawfully entering her apartment, according to testimony in Uijeongbu district court on Friday.
Pfc. Jordan Nelson, 19, of the 55th Military Police Company, is charged with assault and attempted rape after entering the unlocked apartment at about 2 a.m. on Oct. 22. He disputed the tearful woman’s claims that he got in bed with her but admitted striking her with the pan.
When the woman began screaming, Nelson left his clothing and dog tags behind, according to testimony.
Is it just me or do MPs make the stupidest criminals? In my time in the Army I have seen MPs get busted for stupid incidents. I’m not saying that MPs commit more incidents than anyone else, but it sure seems like when they do get in trouble they commit the stupidest incidents. You would think MPs would be more clever in covering their tracks. Even the Air Force has MPs that just leave me wondering what the heck were they thinking?

Sometimes that air of being untouchable by the law goes to their heads, making them airheads.

I was thinking about it and 35th ADA guys have done some pretty stupid stuff as well. Maybe I should have a poll of who has the stupidest criminals MPs or ADA?

Mark, I was a MP for 7 years in the US Army. The fact that this does not surprise me should tell you something.
We had people try and steal from the PX and this is after I showed those same people how good AAFES security cameras really are. We had one guy get busted for sealing gas from the Pol, so he could use mogas in his POV.
I wouldn’t say airhead, but I would say bulletproof or Teflon because they think that their friends will cover this one up for them (Yes, I have seen that also.)

I have heard rumors about MPs covering for their buddies but I really hope it isn’t widespread.

What does ADA stand for? I have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.

First, let me say that after four years of JAG prosecution and defense in Korea, I’ve pondered this very question at great length, and have a deep statistical pool from which to draw.
Hands-down, the stupidest criminals are the cooks. End of story.
MP’s are next.
As for the ADA, it’s their commanders and NCO’s you should be worried about.
Sometimes, it seems that each MOS has its own criminal profile.

I spent a year as an MP w/2ID in the late 1970’s. I wouldn’t say that MP’s are the stupidest crooks so much as when they screw up, it is something bigtime, and usually involves boozing it up and forgetting when they aren’t on duty, they aren’t MP’s. Still, for my money the biggest idiots were the grunts, right after payday on a Saturday night, you could count on a brawl involving everyone at the Gateway Club, multiple fights in the ville, and a riot on the last bus to Camp Hovey carrying the drunk grunts of 1/38 home

As for GI’s link to the article on Lt. Jason Davis at Osan, justice was served… uh-huh.
It seems he refused to be paroled early because he was STILL getting pay and allowances while in jail and wanted to save up the money. He was released earlier than 2 years (1.6 years) due to good behavior and such.
Anybody even know if it was a felony conviction? Will he be able to get a job in Homeland Security… or, at least, a police department?
This story is getting better and better.
J!
