		<description>Minor nitpicking. The monument noted portrays an M-1 carbine, which would have been an appropriate weapon for MPs and guards. By rifle standards, the .30 cal M-1 carbine was something of a popgun due to the lack of power in the cartridge. (carried one myself from 1962-64, and the M-2 carbine for a few operations in 1968) Great bayonet, though. If the barrel ring was filed off, it made a really great field knife.</description>
