My wife and I were walking through Jogno earlier this week and decided to have lunch at Mr. Pizza.  I have seen the Mr. Pizzas around Seoul before, but I have never ate there before because I figured it was probably just the usual Korean style pizza with corn and other wierdness on it, with cheese that tastes like cardboard, and loaded with tobasco sauce.  I ended up being quite surprised.  Mr. Pizza is actually a pretty darn good pizza:

The pizza had cheese that actually tasted like cheese and the toppings were of the more typical variety, though the corn still remained.  The pizza was not spicy at all and to satisfy Korean tastes every table had a bottle of tobasco sauce if needed.  What I also liked was that the pizza came with the garlic butter dipping sauce which was quite good.  Plus for a pizza that feeds two people with two refillable cokes we paid only 12,000 won which is quite good. 

Needless to say both the wife and I were quite impressed and will definitely stop by again for some more pizza before leave.  Definitely the best pizza in Korea that I have tried.

    I also enjoy Mr. Pizza–their marketing that is! Did you like how it’s “Made for Women”? Anyways, I agree that their pizza is pretty tasty. I order delivery from them every few months.

    There was definitely plenty of corn on the pizza but it was good enough that I can overlook the corn while eating this pizza.

    Corn on the pizza, one of the greatest complaints by expats about Korea.

    Hey, here’s an ideal, instead of whining about it day and night, why not ask for a pizza without corn? Just ask, “please don’t put any corn”. Now is that so hard?

    I wonder if Koreans in North America complain about corn not being included amongst the dozen topic choices and wonder why there’s no bottle of hot sauce on the table.

    The best pizza is cheeseless – just grilled veggies layered over a spread of pesto sauce on a thin, whole-wheat crust.

    Well Tom I anyone is whining about the hidden corn trick. Its just a cultural thing here that defines pizza making,

    Besides I HAVE ASKED TO LEAVE OUT THE CORN only to get the ole “yeaaaaa’ and sill get the corn.

    Mister Pizza revived me to health once after some cold vegetables made me too sick to eat for an entire week. I was too weak to walk, and it was that or chajjangmyon. Really, not bad. My only complaint is the the delivery drivers.

    You definitely made the right choice. I could never understand how Koreans could scarf down bowls of noodles paved in molten asphalt. REAL black bean noodles served in ordinary restaurants next door in China are delicious! You can actually see the beans in the sauce.

    It must be too much work to just pick them off, it’s not like corns leave any smell behind. Of all things to whine about…. this one takes the cake.

    Tom again your missing the whole point. Have you EVER eaten Korean Pizza made outside of the Ville? Or better yet TOM are YOU even in KOREA?

    Oh I am certain if you see some Konglish, You would say something or post something right? So this would be considered whining by what your writing>

    Well TOM since it is quite obvious you do not REALLY KNOW the Koreans cook the CORN in the cheese making it a real task to pick the CORN out,

    Oh and dont get me started about Korean Cake

    And you think American style pizza is the real thing? Ask a real Italian how real pizzas are made in Italy. So let me try to understand where you’re coming from. If Koreans change the pizza to suit their own taste buds, it is a sacrilege comparable to Konglish that need to corrected. But if Americans change the pizza or Chinese food to suit their own taste buds, it’s supposed to be authentic, and it’s the way it should be done?

    In Marburg, Germany, the signature “American pizzas” included either corn or canned mandarin oranges.

    There’s corn on pizzas from Domino’s Pizza in Hong Kong. Japan for sure, and I am told, Britain also does corn on pizza too.

    In fact the only places that don’t put corn on pizza, is North America. They’re the weird ones.

    I’d rather have corn on the pizza then what Americans put on their ‘pizza’ – pineapples. Now that is *disgusting*. What do they call it again? – Hawaiian pizza – give me a break.

    Tom, that Germans put corn on what they call “American” pizza doesn’t make it American style pizza. Maybe someday the U.S. will become more advanced in pizza making, but for now it’s mostly corn-free. Perhaps the UN can do something about that…

    Tom,

    Like I said in the post I usually don’t eat Korean pizza because the pizza in the country has been changed to suit Korean tastes which is their prerogative just like it is my prerogative not to eat it.

    I simply mention Mr. Pizza because it does taste like pizza back in America which people reading this blog may find useful and want to check out. Also a lot of Koreans must like the taste of Mr. Pizza as well because the place was packed.
