I have decided to start doing monthly update on how well the ROK Drop blog has been doing and recognizing my top referrers. Since I moved my site over to Wordpress last December traffic to site has slowly been building month by month. I appreciate everyone who stops by and reads what I have to think about things and appreciate many of the great comments left by readers..

GI,
I’m an American currently living in Newcastle, NSW, Oz. I’m a former USAF vet and been to Korea many times. Big fan of your site. Keep up the good work.

I have been to Williamstown a couple of times and what I remember most about Newcastle is that the city has a kick ass steak restaurant downtown that I believe was called the Red Bull. It was definitely the best steak restaurant I have been to in Australia.

GI,
I know the restaurant. It’s called the Red Heifer. I’ve eaten there and it’s pretty good. The uniqueness about the place is that you can grill your own steak at a community grill, rather than have the kitchen cook it up. Aussie steaks are good, but unlike the Korean government, I sure miss American beef. Nothing like a thick T-bone from a Chicago steak house. Another real good place for steaks is the Hog’s Breath Cafe. It’s a big chain in Oz, but puts the Outback to shame.
Speaking of the Outback restaurant, there’s only one in Oz and it’s in Sydney. Supposedly only Japanese tourists go there.

That is the place because the grilling of your own steak was a cool idea that I got a kick out of. I have never been to a Hog’s Breath and I didn’t even know an Outback Restaurant existed in Australia because I have never seen one.
However, you are right American beef I think tastes better as well but Aussie beef is pretty good too. Try some kangaroo meet if you haven’t already because it makes for some pretty good grilling.
Cheers
