A woman in her 60s surnamed Lee donated land she owned in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam worth 40 billion won to the Korea University Medical Center (KUMC) recently. It is the single largest individual donation in Korean history.
The donator was once hospitalized in KUMC to have her chronic disease treated. KUMC, located in Ahnam-dong, Seongbuk, said on Thursday that Lee delivered land-related documents in May, saying, “My mother told me not to obsess with material wealth. I want to follow her words.” The KUMC did not disclose her name or family information at the request of Lee. As a result, her praiseworthy deed was left unknown for the past two months.
When the KUMC asked her why she wanted to remain anonymous, she replied, “When my mother bequeathed her wealth to me, she told me to return it to society. I am only a mediator between her and KUMC.”

I not only admire this woman, but envy her. Every week-end I work at a Buddhist temple soup-kitchen in hopes of atoning for my sins spent in the Ville. I learned this technique of tipping the balance of personal sin in favor of Divine forgiveness from General Leon Laporte's Good Neighbor Program. I am jealous because this grand bribe offered to God makes me still feel like a small-time juicy-girl addicted sinner in comparison.
I guess I need to do more "Good Neighboring" work.

Whoever the woman referred is in this story who is referred to just as Lee, You have to admire greatly. The sum Lee donated translates to 40 million US Dollars….

40 Billion Won!!!! That's about $40 milliion in USD. Cheongdam-dong is one the wealthiest neighborhood in KangnamGu area. This is very generous of her. With these days where Korean people are very materialistic, this is huge act of kindness.
The news report does not mentioned about her own children or husband. If she had a family, then we should also admired her family for supporting her to do this.
