Global warming is REAL! Mankind is destroying the Earth with greenhouse gas! In fact, mankind is producing so much greenhouse gas that he is affecting the entire solar system… apparently.

I DO know that it was offensive to watch An Inconvenient Truth and see Al Gore drive around in a SUV and lecture me about global warming… especially when my Sandbox Science 101 education called bullshit on some of his “facts”… and an Internet search backed me up (and then some).

Actually, I think the hype is good. It has the potential to be used as an excuse by the developed world to ban imports from, and block energy/mineral exports to, threatening/emerging economies such as India and China.

(Though, the last time we did that kind of thing, it resulted in the ship-to-submarine conversion of our Pearl Harbor fleet followed by American-sponsored urban renewal in a couple of Japanese cities.)

Your link was just a rehash of the link I already provided down playing the results because it was just the US. However, the Wired posting says nothing about how the US data was supposed to be the most reliable data available and it proved to be false. If the best data available was wrong how bad is the rest of the data around the world. I guess I just need more faith.

Plus the Wired article only mentions that 2002-2006 was hotter than the 30’s but doesn’t say how much. As I have shown above not by a whole lot. Additionally 2002-2006 is much cooler than 1998-2002 which was not mentioned in the article.

Additionally if Hansen says this isn’t a big deal than why did he try to hide it? With all these questions out there it is clear the debate about global warming is far from over.
