Like most criminals these two criminals are both stupid:

Pvt. Robert J. Kinnaman didn’t get to keep the PlayStation Portable, games and pairs of shorts he bought with another soldier’s debit card at the post exchange this summer.

But he did receive five months in jail and a bad-conduct discharge Monday for stealing two debit cards and ringing up more than $1,200 in purchases.

Kinnaman, of the 2nd Infantry Division’s 6th Battalion, 37th Field Artillery, pleaded guilty to charges in his court-martial at Camp Casey.

Kinnaman, 19, acted as a lookout at the Hanson pool on Camp Casey on June 17 while Pvt. Charles Presnell snatched wallets out of lockers, according to testimony. Pvt. James Box, who faced trial last week, also was involved in the theft, according to court records.  [Erik Slavin - Stars & Stripes]

Here is what happened to his partner in crime:

A 2nd Infantry Division soldier was sentenced Tuesday to 10 months confinement and a bad conduct discharge for stealing money and debit cards.

During a special court martial at Camp Casey, Pvt. James Box, B Battery, 6th Battalion, 37th Field Artillery Regiment, pleaded guilty to seven theft charges and one count each of using marijuana, conspiracy, and falsifying an official statement.

Twice in June, Box and others used a master key to open the lockers at Hansen Field House and steal debit cards, cash and an iPod from wallets stored there in June. [Jimmy Norris - Stars & Stripes]

I sure hope who ever was giving them the master key at the gym is no longer working there, which I hope is something the Stars & Stripes reporters are checking out. 

Besides buying video games, predictably the two also stole money to finance juicy girl as well:

The two soldiers returned to the field house five days later and Box stole cash and a debit card to finance a night out clubbing in Tokori, a town outside Camp Hovey.

Every year it’s nearly the same identical script: soldier(s) steal buddy’s credit or ATM card, go to on post ATM or PX and get money go shopping, and then blow money in the ville on juicy girls and then go to jail.  Like I said stupid criminals.
