Riding the Juicy Girl Express to Jail

Via Nomad, come news of yet another soldier this week who rode the juicy girl express straight to jail:

A soldier who stole from his Camp Humphreys barracks buddies to bankroll his relationships with bar girls was sentenced here Wednesday to loss of rank, jail time and a bad conduct discharge.

Pfc. Steven E. Walker, 21, was reduced in rank to E-1, the military’s lowest pay grade, and given a jail term of 28 months. But under a pre-trial agreement, he’ll serve only 16 months.  (…)

Walker admitted stealing checks from the room of one soldier, forging the soldier’s signature to get cash, and to stealing debit cards from three others, using one of the cards in an attempt to get more money.

Before sentencing, Walker told the judge his relationships with local bar girls generated a need for extra cash.

“There are bars we call the ‘juicy clubs,’ where you can meet really sweet, beautiful young women,” Walker said.

He told the judge that he gave much of the money and became engaged to an older bar girl who has since returned to the Philippines.

Walker also admitted stealing the load-bearing equipment of a fellow soldier and the soldier’s wallet while they were in a truck returning to Camp Humphreys from a training venue.

And he admitted he left post more than 20 times after his commanding officer restricted him after the stolen wallet and some other items were found in his room.  [Franklin Fisher - Stars & Stripes]

If you look at the behavior of juicy girl addicts it is nearly identical to a drug abuser.  Drug addicts steal from anyone including friends and family to feed their drug habits; it is the same thing with juicy girl addicts.  I have seen this same scenario happen so many times yet nothing is ever done to address it.

    A co-worker with a few year in Korea over a couple of decades (like any retired Army, and not the COL with the story about Chun’s daughter) related this;

As he was winding down from his last tour in Korea in the late 90s, they group ended up at a bar in Itaewon (where else?). My co-worker was enjoying the scenery and his soju, but not indulging in the other possibilities.

A new, young soldier to the unit, however, soon selected a young lady and proceeded to pursue that avenue. He eventually whispered something in her ear.

She checked with the ajuma to see if it was ok, and it was. He then gave her a card, which the young lady took back to the ajuma.

Shortly there after the young lady marched back to the young solider, slammed his card down, slapped him across the face, and said:

    “Ajuma no take DPP!”

She must've been pretty new as well.

    Richardson,

    That's an amusing story!!

In general, I've seen men ruin their lives over the power of juicy girls. I must admit that I was one of those guys long time ago. For a country bumpkin like me, being in a place where the girls were interested in you for any reason and fought for your attention was a real turn on. When I was first in Korea in 1983, I remember blowing whole paychecks (not as much back then as they are now) on several nights of booze, rock & roll, and girls. Back then we didn't have the selection they have today either. No filipinas or Russian girls, just straight off the farm Korean girls, most of which had many "charms" of their own.

You had to watch out for the seasoned girls though. They could promise you the moon, drain your wallet, and sit with three other guys in the process and still make you believe that they were going home with you that night only to leave you high and dry when you needed it most.

Although I did have sort of an addiction to juicy girls at one point, I never resorted to stealing or anything like that. These guys today seem to have less self control than I did back then. I remember having a ball but never getting in trouble for anything that went on outside the gates. Let's just say that I bought and consumed a lot of ramyun noodles in my time (back in those days we were on separate rations in my unit so we were given money for food that most of the time found its way downtown too and we didn't have the backup of the dependable chow hall to feed our needs, hence the cases and cases of ramyun noodles consumed).

All in all, as long as there are juicy girls, there will be dumb guys that get hooked on them. Youth, hormones and alcohol are a really bad combination. Hehehehe
