If South Korea isn't as powerful or influential in the region as Roh would like, maybe he needs to take a look in the mirror to understand why that is. Exactly where does the buck stop in Seoul?

[...] ROK Drop has a good reaction to silly statements like this, and this is only adding fuel to the fire. And lastly, we get this as posted before: Meanwhile, Roh said, “The core of the North Korean nuclear issue resulted from mistaken perceptions of danger on the part of the two sides (Washington and Pyongyang). The U.S. is not as dangerous as North Korea thinks it to be. And North Korea is not as dangerous as the U.S. believes it to be.” But the Asahi Shimbun did not publish these remarks in the report. [...]

I'm not surprised by anything Roh says anymore but these particular comments towards Japan are extremely stupid. I am still waiting to see if there will be any Japanese reaction to them.

Ahh, I was scratching my head over that part of the story, and as I blogged earlier, the entire speech was so filled with crap I could not stomach it. Thanks for the clarification on the Japan issue. It just did not make a whole lot of sense when I was reading it.
