There is still time to salvage a single Korean nation on the peninsula but the idiotic Sunshine Policy and Kim Jong-il are making it more and more likely that a post-Kim North Korea will end up being a Chinese autonomous prefecture.

When it happens who do you think the people in South Korea will blame? I'm willing to bet it won't be themselves even though that is where all the blame lies.

It would appear China has the upper hand, as any move by the South Koreans would require exceptions to the armistace signed by the UN. I think South Korea should be prepared to see Chinese military as well as modern Chinese aircraft on the scene in the near future. In a mutual security pact with China. South Korea will have to make an important decision as to where the future lies . Joining with the Chinese or maintaining thier relationship with the US. History tells me they will try to play middle of the road. Eventually the South will lose. The US should leave now, while it is politically feasable and will gain good will from the world.
