It just never ends with idiots like this:
A soldier who worked in Camp Red Cloud’s post office was found guilty Wednesday of taking approximately $150 worth of South Korean won from another soldier’s bank account using a stolen debit card.
Pvt. Adrian Lyles, of the 19th Adjutant General Postal Company, was sentenced to a reduction in rank to E-1, forfeiture of $867 in pay for four months, restriction for 60 days to his place of duty, and hard labor without confinement for 90 days.
He is the first of three soldiers who worked at the post office to be tried for stealing money using debit cards and personal identification numbers stolen from the camp’s mail room.
Lyles pleaded guilty to giving a false statement to investigators and concealing approximately $100 worth of South Korean won. Prosecutors had asked the jury panel to give Lyles a bad-conduct discharge, forfeiture of two-thirds of his pay for six months, and 10 months of confinement. [Ashley Rowland - Stars & Stripes]
Every month there have been multiple cases of credit card fraud this year with no end in sight and these guys always get caught. I had a PFC in my unit find a credit card in the grass a long a sidewalk on Camp Casey. The card had fallen out of the pocket of another soldier walking down the sidewalk. This PFC takes the card and the very first thing he does is not turn the card over to the MPs to give to the rightful owner; he instead heads straight to the PX and buys a new TV. Of course the PX video cameras picked up the entire transaction and the soldier was subsequently put out of the army for the crime. This soldier didn’t think it was a big deal and was surprised the charges against him that would put him out of the army. The guy was an idiot just like these guys in this story are idiots and have no place in the army.

Perhaps this explains where My $1100.00 order from newegg.com went a couple of months ago. Never recieved it but Newegg did give me a refund for it, which was nice of them. Over the years we go thru periods here in AREA I where mail just never arrives… it is cylical.. it is easy to tell when they get a fresh post office crook pcs’d in from the states. Perhaps if the Army did like the Air Force and actually had trained professionals in an actual job description of “Postal Clerk” instead of a bunch of “Hey you” drafties that don’t give a damn about their job and are just counting the days on the calander.

I’m sure my company would love to contract all of the Army’s bases for Postal Services. If that’s too much, we could be contracted as consultants. You get what you pay for, no?
