If anyone thinks Korea has freedom of speech than you might want to read this:
The government yesterday announced plans to submit a bill that would limit political activity by the country’s largest veterans association, causing an outcry from the conservative group which has criticized what it calls the Roh Moo-hyun administration’s kid-gloves approach toward North Korea.
The Ministry of Patriots & Veterans Affairs said it wants to force the Korea Veterans Association to stay strictly neutral on political issues. The bill, which would require both Cabinet and National Assembly approval, would call for the group to be punished if it does not stay neutral. [Joong Ang Ilbo]
Notice how the outgoing leftist government has now chosen to attack this veterans group before they are forced out of office with the conservative Lee Myung-bak’s win in last week’s presidential election. What gives the anti-US leftists groups the write to have their freedom of speech to the extent that they can go and attack policemen, destroy property, and kidnap & beat US soldiers with no consequences while the veterans groups can’t? In fact the Roh government gives these violent anti-US hate groups government subsidies!
The truth is that the outgoing leftist government is trying to take one last shot at this conservative group that has been very active in supporting the US-ROK Alliance and combating the leftist groups that are allied with the outgoing Roh government and infiltrated with North Korean spies. Remember these veteran groups physically battled the leftist groups in Inchon to prevent them from tearing down the MacArthur Statue. The leftists still have a month of power remaining and don’t think the leftists won’t use it for political payback against those that opposed them.

What’s next? Is Roh’s Lame duck Government going to clamp down on all Conservative Christian Organization in ROK from holding Prayer meeting/Demonstration?
Once they start attacking religious organization, all hell will break lose. Even mighty Rome and Mongol Empires left religion alone when they conquored other people’s territory.

I have always found it ironic how the leftists always bring up freedom of speech but they are the biggest threat to it. It doesn’t matter if it is in the universities of America, Venezuela, or even Korea the leftists look to silence those they don’t agree with. The global warming scam is the biggest international example of this.

Chavez might be considered fascinating because he’s such a loon. You got to admit, the moron is kinda fascinating, at least to a point. He and Noh should be best buddies, they’re both way out in space somewhere.
