Well it looks like the Party Pooper’s fortune telling abilities were correct yet again:
This wasn’t the kind of performance Choi Kyoung-ju had hoped for.
After coming into the week with aspirations of contending for the Buick Invitational title, South Korea’s top-rated men’s golfer didn’t even make the cut.
Choi shot a combined score of 5-over-par 149 ― 72 in the first round and 77 in the second ― during the first two days of the tournament on Thursday and Friday at Torrey Pines Golf Club in San Diego, causing him to miss the cut by four strokes and leave the event tied for 119th place. [Korea Times]
119th place is a long ways from being one of the "Big Three" as the Korea Times claimed last week:

By the way if you are wondering Tiger Woods of course won the tournament:

GI,
KJ was the fourth highest player in the World Golf rankings to play at the Buick Open. Only Tiger, Mickelson, and Furyk ranking higher.
Calling KJ a top four player in the world is far off. He's hot right now, KJ is a good golfer. You know me, the golf nut that comments here at your blog. I'm not a big fan of the world rankings system. The women's rankings are screwy to say the least. Can Choi be put realistically in the world's top 10? Yes, but about where he is now 8th, I might rank him a little lower.
Here's a Korean golf prediction for you- A South Korean or player of Korean heritage won't be LPGA rookie of the year in 2008. Watch out for Ji Yai Shin in 2009 though.
