If you want to see the totally divergent views on whaling between Japan and Australia then head over to Japundit and see the two videos there. The Australian show was in very bad taste and I don’t think they were intentionally being racist, but I can understand why the Japanese commenters on YouTube would think they are. Especially since this comes after what some would call a racist beer commercial.Â

I just don't see how each video helps their respective cause.
The DBZ clipe was pretty hilarious.

Again, seriously ROKDrop- get real. How the bloody hell is that even 'slightly' racist?
If that episode was so "racist" and "anti-Japanese" why wasn't it introduced to the Japanese population earlier? Why now when more controversies surrounding Japanese whaling comes to light? Makes you question the poster's integrity, doesn't it? Since you don't live in Australia, I'll quickly brief you- that episode was aired mid-June of 2007 on ABC. If the Japanese population of Australia and abroad were so outraged about it, it would have been all over YouTube with Japanese captions. You should see more Chaser episodes to understand the difference between Aussie comedy and racism/etc.
For real racism, maybe you should post some of the Japanese posters views on Korea, etc. and vice versa.

You've got to be kidding me. Maybe it's debatable whether the show was 'racist', but it was in bad taste. "Can I kill you for research"? I'm glad the old man walked away without baiting the idiot.
As you can see from DBZ parody (an enjoyable nonsense with great engrish), the Japanese are already responding to this issue on youtube. The fact they haven't countered this particular vid doesn't necesarily mean they're not outraged. I'm not Japanese, and I think that video is pure BS.
How do you guys define racism? Do you need a swatstika tattooed skin head who proclaims "I'll kill anyone who's not white" while the tune of dixie plays in the background? Korean netizens who post "Japs get out Dokdo Korean land" in youtube are dummies who run their mouths. They dont really offend me. A beer ad that features a Japanese man skewered for ordering whale meat is racist by my book. It reeks of the yellow peril stereotype.
Truthfully, both the beer ad abd this video will be quickly labeled as "racist" in America and never see the light of day. I can't say I'm always a fan of political correctness, but it serves a purpose.
