Incheon Airport Ranked the World’s Best

Incheon Airport continues to rank number one in the world:

Incheon International Airport has been named “Best Airport Worldwide” for a third consecutive year in an annual airport service quality survey conducted by the Airports Council International (ACI).

According to Incheon International Airport and ACI, Incheon ranked the world’s best by scoring top marks in 30 of 34 service factors. The service quality rankings are based on the results of nearly 200,000 questionnaires completed by passengers who used 99 major airports around the world in 2007.

Incheon also came in first place in 2005 and 2006, becoming the first airport to win the best worldwide award for three straight years. Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia and Singapore’s Changi Airport ranked second and third, respectively. [Chosun Ilbo]

I really do not have any problems with Incheon Airport especially now that they have the train running from the airport as well as the buses. I have been to Kuala Lumpur and Changi airports and I do rank Incheon just slightly better then those two airports myself.

Something Incheon Airport could do is clean up the corrupt cab drivers though.

I haven’t been to any airport in the US that even comes close to rivaling Incheon, KL, or Changi. You are hard pressed to get someone to even smile at you at a US airport. At Incheon everyone has been nice and smile when checking in, dealing with security, etc. I have never had a delayed flight at the airport either and the limo buses are really nice an convenient.

Incheon is fine and dandy, but there’s not enough watering holes, especially down on the end where United gates. Last time I went through (enroute to Newark via San Francisco), construction left me thirsty. I’ll be checking again in a few weeks.

BTW, SFO’s int’l departure area has the greatest airport restaurant I’ve ever been too. Andale has some seriously fantastic Mexican and several varieties of good brew on draft (Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Anchor Steam, for starters). EWR is a getting better, and is a breeze to get to from the Jersey side. I recall people smiling there.

Changi feels more like a mall than an airport. Nice, but the greater joy is riding Singapore Air! Those that have done so know what I’m talking about.
