It's off-topic, but I am interested in hearing ROKDrop's reaction to something I read the other day. Chalmers Johnson.

He called Britain and Australia America's 'Sepoy nations' . I thought it was an especially hilarious description for Britain. Thoughts?

While you strongly deplore that Amnesty Int'l is not in the business of being loyal bumboys to Ann Coulter, 'Goebbels' Limbaugh, and President Cheney, it seems the group has it's own agenda.

That agenda appears to be to dissuade the economically biggest and culturally/militarily most-important country in the world not to descend into the barbarism of torture, and running, well, medieval dungeons into which random people are snatched and stare at walls for the rest of their lives without a trial or any due process. Because that biggest country's behavior is a meaningful example to the world, and North Korea is a meaningless couple of acres ignored by the world.

Perhaps after the most important country in the world refrains from acting like bloodthirsty South American junta generals, AI will have time to properly headline abuses in tiny little corners of the world.
