Forget the Osan Playboy, these people are idiots:
Osan authorities have counseled two members of a group of Air Force police officers who appear — in uniform and on duty — in online videos that contain obscene language and song lyrics that express hostility toward certain racial and religious groups.
Two airmen were counseled Tuesday morning at Osan, officials said, adding that authorities will contact other airmen who appear in the videos but who have moved.
The action follows a Monday inquiry into the videos by Stars and Stripes.
The airmen, current or former members of the 51st Security Forces Squadron, appear in uniform in three videos on MySpacetv.com.
A fourth video on the same site features U.S. servicemembers in civilian clothes — including at least some who were police squadron members — and contains obscene language and gestures, references to allegedly stolen goods and to prostitutes in Suwon City.
There also appears to be a hostile comment addressed to a Capt. Daniel Vorenkamp, who had been a squadron member, base officials said Tuesday.
More than a dozen servicemembers appear variously in the videos. [Stars & Stripes]
It figures that these people are security force servicemembers. I should compile the stats when I have time from my USFK Crime Archive and see which soldiers get in the most trouble; I would not be surprised if security force members and military policemen led the list.

I am not sure that is true. While MPs and Security force personnel may appear to commit more crimes than the average soldier, I would argue it may indicate something else. Most standard non-MP units have a long list of nonjudicial punishment to straighten out soldiers who mess up without charging them with crimes. The “police your own” mentality, at least regarding smaller crimes and misdemeanors. This gives the appearance of lower incidents when it may not be so.
Military Police soldiers are always told about the “higher standard” they are held to. This standard takes the form of being charged for a crime most of the time they screw up. Whether it is intentional or unintentional, MPs are most familiar with charging soldiers and when one screws up, that is the method they are the most familiar with. Rarely are soldiers punished nonjudicially in MP units. I say this with 9 years of experience in the MP corps. This “charge them first” mentality also stems from the idea that if MPs were caught covering for each other the perception would be worse for everybody, not just the offender.
Something to think about the next time you think MPs are the worst criminals.

My oldman was in the army nine years and on a civie police force for thirty-three years. Cops are some of the worst law breakers that I have met.
I myself was let off quite a few times by buddies who are MP’s and by my oldman’s colleagues when I was younger.

So the MPs are the criminals for making sure you didn’t get in trouble? I’m sure you were begging them to be charged.

I tend to agree with Kakusu. Not so long ago, when Osan was publishing a base newspaper, there used to be a Article 15 summary. The security forces squadron always appeared to lead the base in offenses, but I think that’s probably due to the fact that no latitude was given to them for any infraction. Many squadrons sweep minor things under the rug, not so for the security forces squadron.
However, there also seems to be a certain entitlement that many SPs demonstrate that I think stems from the training that they receive at tech school. The complete utter disregard for even basic military courtesy and a respect for the traditions that exist in military culture are things that probably contribute to the abhorrant behavior in some.

Like I said when I have time I will go through the court martial results and see what I come up with. When I post the results I will include the offense committed as well. You can judge for yourself if the offenses committed should have been handled by an Article 15 or not.
It is going to take some time to compile this which I am short on. Maybe I can get something posted next week so be patient.

Now wait a second…judging by the nastygrams I’ve received from Osan field grades over the past four years, I thought they were all little angels down there….

GI: You can judge for yourself if the offenses committed should have been handled by an Article 15 or not.
Unfortunately, there is no way to check unit records for crimes that SHOULD have been reported and charged but weren’t.

What you can do though is look at the court martial results and see if MPs are being brought to court martial for offenses others are not. If MPs are being brought to court martial for offenses no one else is being court martialed for then you would have a point.
We’ll see what happens once I have time to go through all the court martial results in my archives.

Just a thought, but it may also be interesting to compare court martial offenses amongst the various services with regards to their specific total populations on the peninsula. Just a hunch, but I think, percentage wise, the Air Force could be at least equal to or greater than that of the Army’s.

Military Law enforcement sucks (oh did I say that out loud)
You just cant trust a Soldier/Airman with law enforcement power. This is why at least the Army MP duties being phased out and they are being redirected to INF duties

[...] I promised before on the ROK Drop that I would compile statistics from the USFK blotter reports of who is committing the most crime by unit. I apologize for how long it took for me to compile these statistics, but as I promised I went through all the USFK blotter reports for the past year and compiled by unit the number and what type of incidents were committed by the unit. To be in the airforce and be so ungrateful about your life of laziness and luxury that you would post stupid videos is pathetic. For disciplinary action they should be sent to the army or marines. Without the blue to green bonus of course. Then you can have a reason to be disgruntled. Besides, you’re in the airforce, you’re not hardcore unless you’re a fighter pilot.
