ROK Drop Stats for March 2008

Listed below is a quick update of the status of the ROK Drop. The stats show that readership of the ROK Drop continues to grow. Last August the ROK Drop was receiving 329 unique views a day and that has now grown to 832 uniques per day last month. This is great growth and it will be a great accomplishment to one day get the ROK Drop over 1,000 uniques per day.

Site traffic for March 2008 was quite busy with a number of postings receiving heavy traffic. This heavy traffic led the ROK Drop to have its busiest day ever with 3,391 page views in one day on March 24th centered around my posting on the murder of Lee Dong-gun’s brother. I have to admit that it is a little frustrating that my well written, time consuming articles that I post on the ROK Drop receive only a fraction of the page views that some of my hastily written postings about news concerning Korean celebrities receive. I guess that’s life on the internet though.

Finally I want to thank all the readers of the ROK Drop especially my long time readers (you know who you are). If no one was reading this blog I sure would not keep it going like I have. I especially appreciate the many great comments left by readers that add to the depth of the postings offered here.

Have a good week and thanks for reading the ROK Drop.

GI, I have long enjoyed your obviously well-researched posts. You have always been a frequent stop for me. Having said that, you filled a void for me that was created by the demise of Lost Nomad. I’m sure there are a few others, the Nomad himself included (you know who you are  ), who feel the same way. Hopefully you become less “Forward Deployed” soon and get to PCS back this way someday.

    Keep up the good work!

Very cool to see that your site readership is growing. What stat tracking did you use to generate the graph/info in this post?

    Dave,

Thanks man, appreciate the kind words (You do know that I started a new blog solely dedicated to fishing, right?). And yes, this is one of the few blogs that I still read on a regular basis.

    Gi,

I have to agree with all the above comments. Dave’s comment about “PCS back this way someday” would make many a soldier happy here.

Thanks gents for the kind words. I hope I can get back to Korea again some day but the big Army doesn’t seem to like that idea for now. Something about some war going on, I’m sure you guys have heard of it.

    Nomad,

I got your new site on my sidebar now. I’m looking forward to reading through your fishing stories.

    James,

The stats are from Bluehost’s Awstats but I pulled the graph off of my Bravenet stat counter since Awstats doesn’t have nice graphs like Bravenet.

GI. I like your no nonsense attitude in your blogging about Korea.

You have an honest blog, and I hope you keep it that way. Don’t let the VANK’ers out there change you!

One question, has the US Military ever tried to censor you?

Alan thanks for constructing the list. It is amazing how many Korea blogs are out there now compared to when I first started blogging.

Shattered I had a prior milblog years ago that was censored by a colonel that I shut down and started the ROK Drop instead. Since the launch of the site I have had no issues with being censored.

Yeah, GI if you do the Nomad thing and NOT ask us can you quit….I swear to God I’m gonna make swim back to Korea with no support. LOL

All the K-bloggers do a mighty fine job.
