What makes this court martial case interesting is not the fact that a CID agent was convicted for refusing to do his job, but the reason why he did not want to do his job:
Lemos struggled with the mountain of paperwork and became jaded with the high volume of questionable sexual assaults and indecent-acts allegations.
He feared that if he continued working as an agent he might jeopardize a criminal investigation. “I was not good for the job,” he testified. [Stars & Stripes]
False rape allegations has been a topic of much interest on my companion blog the ROK Drop because of the number of questionable rape convictions and allegations which this now former CID agent now confirms has become so prolific that he was forced to unilaterally quit his job thus landing himself a rank reduction and punishment. The military should really ask themselves why false rape allegations are becoming so prolific?
