This is one shady soldier who screwed over a number of his friends:
When the money ran out for Pfc. Daniel Yoon, he walked into Community Bank and became fellow soldier Pfc. Jin Y. Kim.
He walked out with a $1,000 personal loan to feed his gambling habit.
On Thursday, Yoon pleaded guilty to nine charges related to stealing money and was sentenced to 15 months in confinement, reduction in rank to E-1 and a bad-conduct discharge.
Yoon has spent the past 142 days in confinement because he is considered a flight risk. Yoon also alluded to owing money to Korean underworld figures, and the military is worried about his safety, a command official said following the trial. [Stars & Stripes]
Read the rest of the article because this soldier committed a slew of other crimes to feed his gambling habit that has ultimately landed him in military jail, which may be a good thing considering the Korean mafia is after him.

So I take it I’m not going to get the money he owes me?

Lock him up and throw away the key. A lesson should be sent. He needs to be that lesson. 10 years in levenworth breaking rocks seems fair.
I also like the arab way of punishment. Cut off his hand.

Apparently he had a problem even before he joined the military.
I wonder if/when we will see a follow-up aricle on USFK’s policy of checking IDs at the slot rooms on base.
I’m sure MWR accounting can determine month by month profits. I would like to see if gaming profits dropped (if any drop occurred) before/after the new policy.

Often times I wonder why USFK has these casinos in the first freaking place. I’m just assuming he was feeding his “habit” on post. I dont recall seeing casinos at the numerous CONUS bases I once served at. If we don’t have the stuff in the U-S-and-A, then why in Korea?
Hell, its mainly LN’s using the crap in the first place. Same with the golf courses, get rid of those MWR fund-wasters too!

This is last thing that I need to hear. Korean-American GI committing crime on other Korean-American GI in USFK. I hope this does not get full coverage in ROK media or even in DPRK media.

Nothing to worry about. The “LAWGIVER has decreed:
KOREAN SHALL NOT KILL KOREAN
