No the statue is not on Cheju, but it is not to far from a US military installation in Korea.

And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Rusty Old Hyundai Parts, and the smell of soju and burnt motor oil followed with him.

I will go ahead and give the answer to this one.

This statue sits in the middle of Sky Park located on the roof of the the Dae Beck Plaza Department Store near Camp Walker and Henry.

Thanks to the reader in Daegu who sent this one in.

You gave us the where can you tell us what it is supposed to be a statue of… That was a hard one…

    NC47 on May 7th, 2008
  • 36

It is supposed to be a sculpture of the devil with a boner on horseback if you can believe it. Yes it was definitely a hard one. I would not have been able to answer that one myself either since I have never spent any significant amount of time in Daegu.

If anyone else has some good images they think can make for a good Korea Finder go ahead and send them in.

I didn’t realize Daegu was part of Gyeongsangnam-do. That’s what threw me. (Not that I would have guessed it anyway.)

Brian Daegu is not part of Gyeongsangnam-do, but is the capitol of Gyeongsangbuk-do.

Ah, okay, I missed your last mention of “buk.”
