How do you get a one-armed Korean off the beach?

You hold his head underwater for 10 minutes. LOL

GI, without any current research or references, I believe this was a rogue wave. Any number of factors may have contributed to this. Since seismic activity has been ruled out, this is my guess. I only wish I could answer some of the Korea Finders!

The Korea Times article said they weren't sure what caused the wave but that it wasn't seismic activity. I don't know if a giant wave is still called a tsunami if it isn't caused by an earthquake. Does anyone else know?

Gord at gordsellar.com stated that the waves were not tsunami powered but came from wind and weather (or something). He thought an advisory would have been possible and this makes sense. I think a tsunami warning would be less possible or useful as the wave would arrive as people were looking down at their phones: the Indonesian tsunami travelled at hundreds of km/hr and there just isn't much travelling distance in the Yellow or East Seas.

I understand that a big wave can knock you around no matter who you are but I wonder if more accessible swimming lessons would help. Again, the Indonesian Tsunami would easily have overwhelmed my swimming skills (and I am an unusually strong swimmer) but knowing how to swim would help, right?

To what degree is Rain responsible for the Korean Wave?

...come on, guys... it's just a weather question.
