I think it goes without say that this is a good thing to keep these people from teaching English in Korea:
The move came after the ministry received a list of 21 names from US immigration authorities.
“They have been convicted of assaulting or having sex with minors aged under 14 in the US and have since travelled to Asia, including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, the Philippines and South Korea,” Park Young-Yoon, a prosecutor in charge of immigration at the ministry, said. [AFP]

I wondered if USFK depdendents are also included in this list? I think there was one USFK dependent who was on the list was authorized to live in Yongsan Family Housing. I think he was on the list when he was living in Illinois. It created some controversy due to there is no law that applies to the dependent who was on the state list.

I don’t know but I personally wouldn’t mind the SOFA being altered to allow this because USFK shouldn’t be allowing prior sex offenders to come into the country.
