It does not surprise me that China has refused help from the US for two reasons. First, the US declined to accept rescue workers from China. Second, there appears to be a belief among Chinese government officials, academics, and military experts that the CIA is sponsoring Free Tibet groups as a means of destabilizing China. This accusation is made in ?English forums among other talking points spewed by Chinese internet propagandists, known as "Fifty Cent Party" in Chinese. A couple Fifty Cent Party members infested TMH awhile back when we were posting about the torch relay violence. As soon as I pegged them for C-borgs, I quit reading but then started noticing the same ideas and the same talking points writing style in other online news discussion forums.

When Koreans "give" money for relief, it often goes to the hands of all the overseas Koreans that live in that area.

A great example is Katrina where Korea "gave" money to Korean churhes and then the press release said how Korea gave money to American.

In my opinion, these "rescue workers" will be heading to the nearest Korean owned room salan in Beijing.

I could be wrong, but I have read so many comments by Koreans, even here in GI Korea by Koreans like "apple pie" who celebrate the death of Chinese. I simply cannot picture that Koreans have the empathy to help Chinese without getting something in return. It is not the Korean way.
