Bones of Korean War Dead Found In Gapyeong

 korean-war-soldiers-bones.jpg

First of all let me say it is great how hard the Korean authorities have been working to recover and properly bury and honor their war dead.  These recovered soldiers are from the Battle of Gapyeong which occurred in April 1951 and is a battle well known to Aussies, Canadians, and New Zealanders for their heroic defense against the advancing Chinese forces.

However, what I continue to find interesting about all the discoveries the Korean authorities have made of bones from Korean War dead across the country is how to this day despite multiple searches, not one bone of the supposedly 400 people alleged to have been killed by US soldiers at No Gun Ri has ever been recovered.

If you haven’t already, I highly recommend you read this to understand why no bones have ever been recovered.

I think “No Gun Ri” has been pretty much discredited. Only the AP will never send back the pulitzer it won because of the reporting with witnesses “at the scene”. I think they even knew it would be eventually discredited, as several relevent facts came to light about the credibility of the “witnesses” just prior to the awarding of the Pulitzer. It should be a required study of dishonest reporting to all journalists and the quest to gain a prize while sacraficing all truth of the matter, but I doubt that will ever happen as well.
