Note on Comments

Just a quick note to let everyone know about comments.

Sometimes when you make a comment it does not appear because it get picked up by the Akismet Spam program.  Certain keywords such as the “F” word will cause the program to mark the comment as spam.  Other keywords such as “prozac” and other product words often used by spammers will also cause the program to mark the comment as Spam.  Also if you are commenting from an internet cafe the computer you are on may have had its IP address marked as spam due to the actions of other users using the computer.  Basically what I am trying to say is there is a variety of reasons why your comment may be marked as spam and don’t automatically conclude there is this great conservative K-blog conspiracy to silence you.

If you suspect your comment got marked as spam send me an email to let me know.  This happens from time to time and I will go through the spam que and hopefully find it.  The spam que gets deleted every two days.  I do not go through the spam que of comments myself regularly because I usually get around a 1,000+ spam comments a day.  It takes too much time to go through them.   Imagine going through a 1,000+ spam emails a day that is basically what it is like.

I appreciate people who have sent emails to me politely asking me to check for their comment and post it which I will continue do if I can find it in the spam que.  What I recommend is that if you are making a long detailed comment, type it up on Word and then cut and paste it into the comment field and then save the Word file.  If you suspect it got marked as spam the you can just email the comment to me and then I can cut and paste it on to the thread under your name.  This saves me time from having to search through the spam que as well as saving you from losing the hard work you put into making a comment.
