Camp Hillenmeyer was known as Camp Hillenmeyer in 1946. I was there with Company K, 63rd Regiment of the 6th Division. Our company built some of the Quonset huts. I have photographs of the sign at the gate and at the chapel taken in late summer 1946. I left Korea in November of 1946 so I know the name of the camp was Camp Hillenmeyer in 1946.

Jerry thanks for commenting. I always appreciate hearing from old Korea vets about their experiences in Korea. Have you read, Korea: Between the Wars which is a pretty good book about the time frame you were in Korea.

This is a little vignette from my historical site. As one page of my site equals about 60-100 printed pages, I'll only paste little bits here.
There is a lot of forgotten history out there and I've tried to document it through the eyes of those that were actually there.

I will do the same with the history of Osan AB as well later.
