Article 32 Date for Accused Daegu Murderer Announced

The US Army captain that allegedly murdered his wife will begin the legal process to determine if there is enough evidence or not to go to trial next week:

A pretrial hearing in the case of a U.S. Army captain accused in the death of his wife is set for 9 a.m. Monday at Camp Henry in Daegu, South Korea, officials said. Capt. Christopher Gray has been in confinement since May 9, the day authorities found the body of his wife, Lea, 27, in a mountain valley north of Daegu. Gray is charged with murder, officials have said.

He had been assigned as assistant operations officer with the 25th Transportation Battalion at Camp Henry.

The couple lived at Camp George in Daegu. Their daughter, Bianca, has since been turned over to relatives in her mother’s native Philippines, the family has told Stars and Stripes.

The hearing, known as an Article 32 proceeding, is the U.S. military’s equivalent of a grand jury session. Lawyers for the prosecution and defense present evidence to a hearing officer, who must decide whether to recommend that the case go to trial. [Stars & Stripes]

    I sure hope they return a No-True-Bill.

I don’t think he could have hurt his wife what reason would he have had to hurt her?
The prosecution must have a pretty sound case though, if he killed his wife, he must have had a reason, I wonder if we’ll ever know if he did kill her.

Guilty…The reason…adultry…He didn’t seem to be concerned about her going missing…The Koreans won’t prosecute so this is his chance…one way or another

“…to determine if he is guilty or not next week.”

Slip of the typing fingers. An article 32 hearing is to determine whether there is enough evidence to merit a general court martial.
