I heard on the radio that Sarah Palin mania had caused the manufacturer of her glasses to run out of stock due to the popularity of the Alaska Governor. Well now Palin mania has reached all the way across the Pacific Ocean to Japan:
The Alaska Governor’s designer specs have become a hot topic on the US campaign trail, with some speculating that the 44-year-old former beauty queen is trying to show her seriousness.
But whatever her reason, Masunaga Optical Manufacturing is pleased with the media interest. [AFP]

And just a few weeks ago it was fashionable to call reduce Obama to a simple-minded celebrity. Of course, Palin isn’t like that. She was a mayor!!!

Obama does not have to be reduced. His record speaks for itself. Yes, Palin was a mayor and now she’s a governor. She’s also intelligent, articulate and doesn’t carry a feminist chip on her shoulder. She’s everything the democrats wanted but could not produce. A great move by McCain.

I don’t believe O’bama has the experience to be president, yet, I can’t help wonder what would happen if McCain died within two weeks of being elected and Sarah Palin becomes president. On the other hand, a moose hunting woman with no experience would put most of the world on thier best behavior. It would me.

Ha! Why do people hunt moose though? I couldn’t imagine population control.

Some people don’t care about the fact that she is qualified. They want to ruin her because she is a woman. Clam, why do you want to crush the dreams of so many women. Break that glass Palin.
Palin is chage we ALL can belive in.

Shattered,
I enjoy reading and commenting on this site like you do. However, the accusations you are spewing at me are totally inappropriate and offensive. I disagree with Palin because of her issues.
I am asking you to stop trolling my comments. I will not respond to any comments you make, so we will have no reason to communicate.

Shattered, let’s just take Palin’s gender off the table and look at other more important issues:
1. How do you feel about the fact that her husband was a member of a secessionist party (the AIP) and she also attended at least one of their conventions in Wasilla in the ’90s?
2. She scammed Alaskans to the tune of over $16,000 by filing for per diem reimbursement when staying at her home instead of the governor’s mansion?
3. Her alleged abuse of power in the firing of Monegan after he failed to fire her former brother-in-law (so-called Troopergate). And then on top of that, McCain’s people attempted to remove one of the chief investigators just because he’s a Democrat.
4. Her hiring of a Jack Abramoff-linked lobbyist when she was mayor of Wasilla (netting some $27 million in federal taxpayer pork for the tiny town).
5. Her obvious distain for the press given that she has held no interviews and granted no press conferences since her selection as VP nearly two weeks ago. What does she have to hide? Her ignorance or the truth?
Please stop discussing her gender, which is s.e.x.i.s.t, and address the above points if you don’t mind.

who cares… the vp position is totally irrevevant anyway. besides, which politician is actaully pure?

Palin was a member of the secessionist Alaskan group–the group’s vice chairman is on record saying so:

Of course American media is too spineless to follow up on this and ask her and her husband if they still think Alaska should secede from the union (which is treason by the way), and the “barracuda” isn’t taking questions from the press anyway.

I believe the head of the party apologized for making that statement. She stated that she took the word of others as fact and searched the AIP data base and Palin was never a member of the group — though she did speak to the party when she was running for governor. Palin’s husband’s membership is a bit murky though — not quite sure if he was a member years ago and quit or if he still is, but inactive.

Palin was a member of the ….
Some of these lefties remind me of the Mckarthy and House Committee on Un-American Activities. Freedom is OK as long is they agree with it. A 17yo (black woman) with a baby who goes on welfare is great, but white 17 year old who has a baby in an educated family is somehow wrong and evil. Its Clam logic if I ever heard it.
More flip flopping from the libbies. Washington needs real change. Washington needs a to break that glass. The anti-woman haters need to eat their words. Lets let our daughters be proud!
Palin: Change we can belive in.

More “change” and “reform” we can all believe in:
“Palin’s Lawyer is at it Again”
Palin’s lawyer is at it again… After his last attempt to derail the ethics investigation into Palin’s firing of Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan falied, he’s trying again. This time, instead of Senator Hollis French, he’s going after retired prosecutor turned special investigator Stephen Branchflower.
“Steve Branchflower is a highly respected prosecutor and public servant,” said Sen. Hollis French, D-Anchorage. “If there were wrongs committed, he will find them. If there were not, he has the professional experience and good judgment to say so.”
Apparently Mr. Van Flein has another opinion. He says that both Hollis French, and Stephen Branchflower are friends of Walt Monegan, but didn’t say upon what he was basing that statement. He also requested copies of all emails having to do with the hiring of Branchflower, and emails among the legislative council to Branchflower and French.
In July, Palin said she did nothing wrong and that she welcomed an investigation. Now, after becoming McCain’s running-mate, and with the outcome of the investigation set to come on October 31, just 5 days before election day, any roadblock will do. No more welcome wagon.
So far, the Legislature has successfully dodged attempts to delay the investigation. Will they be able to fend off Van Flein’s latest diabolical scheme? Stay tuned.
