Police detained dozens of blind masseurs on Thursday as they violently protested on a bridge spanning the Han River against a new government decision that may take away their exclusive profession.
The Ministry for Health, Welfare and Family Affairs recently introduced a policy to issue body massage licenses to skin estheticians. Blind masseurs say there is technically no clear line between esthetic massage and medical massage, which is currently granted exclusively to the blind practitioners by law, and the new policy actually enables the sighted to advance on their profession. guess they throw stuff like normal protestors. having personally witnessed plenty of demonstartions by college students here in the 80's, the blind can't be any worse at hitting their intended targets than those folks were.
