When I first read this I wondered if this guy suddenly had the munchies?:
An 8th Army sergeant was detained early Sunday morning for breaking into a bakery in Seoul’s upscale Gangnam district, South Korean police said Tuesday.
A police spokesman said the U.S. soldier, 26, was drunk when he began kicking down the blue wooden door of Cookie Mori, which produces baked goods.
The bakery’s security alarm went off around 4:20 a.m., and police soon arrived and detained the man on charges of breaking in and property damage.
The sergeant was turned over to U.S. Forces Korea officials after questioning, and Gangnam police plan to question him further. [Stars & Stripes]
Here is my favorite part of the article:
A woman who answered the phone at Cookie Mori on Tuesday said none of the cookies were eaten during the break-in.
I guess the Stars & Stripes reporter was wondering the same thing I was. Not only is this guy an idiot for breaking into a bakery in the first place, but if you are going to break into the bakery how do you not at least eat one cookie?

It must be the Koreans making up the charges and lying about this innocent GI. He didn't do anything wrong. Koreans are lying again.

Note that the break in happened at 4:20
Seriously, you can't make this stuff up.

The S&S reporter and/or Korean store owner seem to have quite a sense of humor about the whole thing. I am certain the GI will be punished and pay for any damage. This was obviously drunken stupidity and luckily no one was hurt. Best yet, he will probably forever be known by his new moniker, Cookie Monster.
What. A. Dumbass.
You are right Tom, Koreans NEVER get drunk and do stupid crap. Koreans certainly never lie. But it is their country so it’s ok to screw waegooks. Perhaps in the perception there is a bit of truth. I almost always perceive you as an idiot, or at least a half assed net troll.
Have a great day!

Sorry, I along with a lot of others find no humor in this or any other crime committed by any representative of the US in Korea. This guy is just another scumbag that joined the Army. He is not an idiot just a burden to society.
What an embarrassment.

Another miss-guided doughboy.
I think we need to take the story with a grain of rye, the way I heard it, he was just trying to wipe a Stinko nut off his boot using the door least he be mistaken for a Stinko thief when the door accidentally popped open.

I don't know why the Sergeant broke into the bakery, but I do know why he didn't eat at least one cookie.
Every NCO knows- or should at least know by now, that Korean cookies taste like paper.
