Reports are now coming out of Japan that Kim Jong-il’s son has been spotted doctor shopping in Paris:
Kim Jong-nam, the eldest son of North Korean leader Kim Jong-il, in Paris last week met with a neurosurgeon who then left for Pyongyang, Japan’s Fuji Television reported Monday.
FNN showed footage of a man presumed to be Kim Jong-nam entering the neurosurgery ward of a Paris hospital and leaving the hospital about two hours later. FNN also showed footage of journalists asking Kim about his father’s disease and condition, and Kim keeping silent.
Two days later, the French doctor who was presumed to have spoken with Kim Jong-nam went to Charles de Gaulle International Airport in a sedan belonging to the North Korean mission to UNESCO in Paris, the channel said. Asked if he was leaving to treat Kim Jong-il, the French doctor said, “I’m going to Beijing.”
But the doctor did not say no when asked whether he was traveling to Pyongyang. If the report is true, it would suggest that Kim Jong-nam is taking charge of his father’s health, which would be interesting with regard to speculation about the succession. [Chosun Ilbo via RateMyHagwon]
For whatever reason the Japanese media seems to continuously have some great sources within North Korea and here is another example of them breaking an important story. The fact that Kim Jong-nam is doctor shopping in Paris a neurosurgeon is a pretty good indication that Kim Jong-il probably did have a stroke.
Since returning to Pyongyang I do have to say that Kim Jong-nam has actually lost some weight. Take a look at him before his return to Pyongyang while he was still living in Macau:

Then compare that to how he looks now:

Despite the weight loss he is still obviously the fattest guy in North Korea.

LOL, I can just imagine Kim Jong Il sitting in a wheelchair with his tongue hanging out and drooling all over himself while someone feeds him Gerber pureed peas. “Another spoonfull ‘oh great leader’, Oops, you pooped yourself again, let me get Field Marshal Kim to clean you up. Would you like to comment on the Americans again ‘Great leader’, I’m sorry ‘Great leader’ I don’t know what ‘arrrhhgwaaaa bwaaa’ means.

I know doctors take the Hipocratic(sp?)oath, but what is it with someone actually wanting to help an evil piece of sh*t like Jong-Il?
Really? This fat, megalomaniacal psycho wants medical assistance and you say “okay”? WTF?
It always seems to be the French doctors who volunteer to help these bloodthirsty dicatators. I just read a book by one of Saddam Hussein’s insiders who talks about European doctors regularly treating Hussein, his family and cronies while the country starved. French doctors were usually involved.
Damn, would these French doctors have helped out Hilter, Stalin, or Pol Pot?

“Hippocratic oath” or not $250,000 US dollars in the doctors bank account plus expenses, would entice many doctors to care for a needy patient. Not to mention the doctors mistress.

Do you think in the world today that a 50 year old doctor whose wife spends as much as he makes should not be interested in his retirement fund? He needs to live, you know. Uphold his lifestyle. Yet plan for his future retirement. Is he so different from you?

If I were that doctor I’d be concerned any pay i received would be in counterfeit currency.

I would be more concerned for my life if I was a doctor treating Mr Tiny. Imagine an entire country after you because you killed their “Dear Leader”. I hope that doc has an pilots license just in case. Although he would have to grab one of those wooden transport planes (AN 24?) IF they even have any gas for them.
