Wendy’s in Japan is not a new phenomenon, as I first saw one in Tokyo back in 2002. I did hear that in Itaewon there used to be a Wendy’s five or so years ago, but that it quickly shut down. Also some dude here mentioned a Wendy’s in Busan back in 1996. (http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/viewtopic.php?p=1804863)

“At the hearing the same day Mr. Park and the others denied all guilt, saying, “the candle-light vigil culture had the character of a cultural activity and did not violate the law. Even if they did violate the law the current law is unconstitutional.”
“They emphasized, “it is claimed there was violence at the protests but we bear no responsibility because we took active measures to prevent violence (committed by participants). As to the blocking of traffic, it was done to express the feelings of the citizenry about the government’s plans to import American beef and we therefore believe it not to be illegal.””
I don’t understand why these self-styled “freedom fighters” and “defenders of democracy and the nation” are so ashamed of their actions, and have to tell such obvious lies in a lame attempt to somehow excuse themselves.
They should be proud of their actions and bear the consequences with dignity, in my opinion.
Have they no honor?
