Hines Ward Hosts Children from Korea Again

Pittsburgh Steeler receiver Hines Ward continues to do some great work with Amerasian children in Korea:

A group of young people from halfway around the world arrived in Pittsburgh.

They are guests of Hines Ward and his Helping Hands Foundation.

They’re all from South Korea. Ward’s mother is Korean and he became a hero there after winning Super Bowl XL and becoming the MVP.

Ward is biracial and says he understands the pressures on kids of biracial backgrounds in Korea.

While here, the Korean students will visit schools and attend Sunday’s Steelers game.  [KDKA News]

Check the link for a video news report of Hines Ward helping these children.  I thought it was great how he even met the children at the airport when they landed in Pittsburgh.  Hines Ward is definitely a classy guy.  I said nearly three years ago that I would be impressed if he maintained his commitment to Amerasian children in the coming years instead of spotlighting it for a few weeks to win some cheap media points which seems all to common with celebrities now a days.  As this latest group of Amerasian children brought to America by Hines Ward shows, he has definitely  kept his commitment to advocate for these bi-racial children long after his Super Bowl glory.
