2008 Korean Fleet Review Pictures

Recently the South Korean Navy held their 2008 Fleet Review:

A fleet of over 50 warships from the South Korean Navy and 12 other nations was on display during the 2008 International Fleet Review in the waters off Busan. South Korea’s state-of-the-art Aegis destroyer, Sejong the Great and Asia’s Largest Landing Ship, Dokdo, were displayed in this event. [KBS Global]

Here are some more pictures of the ships:

Here are pictures of ROK Marines launching their landing crafts:

The USS George Washington also participated in the Fleet Review and here was some reactions from Koreans who saw the ship at the 2008 Fleet Review:

[Shin Ja Park, Citizen]:
When I’ve watched various ships from worldwide, I could discover each countries’ customs and characters through them.

[Sung Sik Kim, Citizen]:
This is the first time that I’ve ever seen foreign warships. I was very impressed by the US aircraft carrier. It was so huge.

Here is some video footage of the event as well:

I have to wonder if this Fleet Review is really just a cover to aid Korean sport fishermen in their attempts to occupy Tshushima Island?
