Liked that story of the Chinese using decommissioned subway cars for housing people who lost their homes in the quake. However, it triggered an idea.
In Seoul — especially during the winter months — the homeless in Seoul start congregating in the Seoul Station. Just a thought that there are a lot of old cars sitting around. Couldn’t the ROK government convert these cars to bare necessity living quarters? In fact, hire the homeless to renovate them if needed. There has to be unused sidings that could house these folks. Of course, the folks that sleep in the station also rely on the charity food lines for food. Maybe some cars could be renovated into cafeteria-style dining cars for those folks instead of working out of tents.
Just a thought… Maybe the ROK will finally admit after all these years that it has a massive homeless problem that is getting worse.
