Korean National Assembly at Stand Still as Sit In Continues

This is nothing more then a Korean version of a filibuster:

South Korea’s parliament is experiencing a extended period of paralysis that is getting increasing physical. Minority politicians have vowed to block a set of bills they oppose by any means necessary. So far they are keeping their word.

About 50 members of South Korea’s minority Democratic Party forced their way into the main voting hall of the country’s parliament Friday and locked themselves in. Their aim was to prevent ruling party members from holding a plenary session that might have resulted in the passing of bills the Democratic party opposes.  [Voice of America]

Last week ROK Drop readers probably remember the huge conflict with sledgehammers that broke out between the rival political parties as well.  I have to wonder if the early creators of the US government envisioned the use of the filibuster to prevent such nonsense we see that continuously goes on in the Korean National Assembly?

This is what happens when you try democracy in a nation meant to be fascist by natural politics.

I sometimes wonder if the politicians in this country are conscious of the image this projects to the world. There is apparently no sense of shame about this in the political leaders who engage in this behaviour. To many foreigners they must appear to be a bunch of rascals.

Its worth watching and seeing if it gets results. If so there may be followers in other countries. Sometimes its not politics so much as it is about what works,

When your lawmakers behave worse than primates, perhaps there is some room for improvement within the current environment. Of course such behavior is the norm from people who are not very well educated, or come from not so choice family environments. I do find the idea entertaining that these are the gentlemen who truly believe the can successfully navigate this country through the troubled waters of the current financial situation, al the while behaving worse than a group of first graders.!
