Well I have read Tears of My Soul and found much of the information useful. Meaning, the training was as good as it could have possibley gotten but the information they had was completely incompitant. The NK gov. did not have sufficient and up to date information on Japan and Japanese culture. So if and when she was captured she was never going to have a chance to get out of it.

Instead of KHH, I thought Rangoon Bombing was done by Chun who was trying to get rid of his Cabinet members. Which can be more believable than KHH was not DPRK spy.

I actually read the biography, which was quite interesting. The biggest thing I came away with was -- NK spy training was really crappy. Upon interrogation, KHH could not even give the most basic information to keep her identity as a Japanese tourist. She gave the wrong name for the Japanese emperor and the prime minister; she pretended not to know what gim was when it was served for her meal, which is idiotic given the amount of nori eaten in Japan.

That made me think, at the time, maybe there was something to this conspiracy theory. The story just didn't make sense -- NK didn't teach most basic things about Japan to its spies that were supposed to pose as Japanese? But at this point, I am convinced that NK spying apparatus is simply stupid.
