It looks like the first meeting between Presidents Obama and Lee will happen in April:
President Lee Myung-bak and U.S. President Barack Obama will likely hold their first one-on-one meeting on the sidelines of a G-20 summit slated for April 2nd in London.
A senior official at Cheong Wa Dae told reporters on Tuesday that he proposed a bilateral summit during his recent trip to the U.S. and that Washington agreed to positively consider the proposal.
The official also said that he conveyed President Lee’s wish to visit the U.S. at the earliest date possible for a summit because the London meeting will be short even if it is held.
The official added that Washington confirmed its position that it does not recognize Pyongyang as a nuclear state, which will be reaffirmed by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during her visit to Seoul on Thursday. [KBS Global]
