Aid workers have been forced to withdraw from North Korea after the Kim regime has refused to accept US food aid:
U.S. nongovernmental organizations carrying out food aid distribution in North Korea will withdraw from the country by the end of this month.
Five NGOs issued a joint statement on Saturday to pull out their staff from the North following Pyongyang’s rejection of U.S. food aid. As a result, 16 relief workers will leave.
The NGOs added that they regret North Korea’s decision.
Since last year, the groups said they distributed 100-thousand tons of U.S. government food aid to some one million North Korean children and pregnant women. [KBS Global]
Well it isn’t like the North Korean people even know about the food aid anyway.
