Details of Daegu Army Captain Murder Case Released

The defense team for Army Captain Christopher Gray who is accused of killing his wife is going to have a hard time explaining away this evidence:

The Army captain accused of killing his wife in their Camp George apartment and dumping her body was caught on elevator camera footage struggling with a heavy suitcase that contained his wife’s corpse, prosecutors said Tuesday.

Prosecutors showed the footage during the court-martial of Capt. Christopher Gray, who is accused of killing his wife, 27-year-old Lea Gray, on April 20.

Her severely decomposed, partially skeletonized body was found May 9 in a ditch, covered with weeds and brush, in a wooded area not far from Camp Carroll in Waegwan, about 40 minutes north of Daegu, prosecutors said.

She died of a toxic dose of diphenhydramine, an antihistamine, medical experts have testified.

Gray has pleaded not guilty to premeditated murder, obstruction of justice, and conduct unbecoming an officer.

Gray’s court-martial began Monday at Camp Henry in Daegu before a seven-member jury of Army officers and military judge Col. Donna M. Wright.

Prosecutors contend Gray grew outraged with his wife’s repeated infidelity and hatched a carefully researched plan to murder her.

He used the Internet to research ways to kill her, bought over-the-counter medications that contained diphenhydramine, and, after administering a deadly dose, stuffed her in a suitcase, lugged the suitcase to his Nissan Maxima, drove to a secluded area in Waegwan and dumped the body, prosecutors contend.  [Stars & Stripes]

Will you be surprised if he walks?

"outraged with his wife’s repeated infidelity" If his defense can prove this he has a good chance of walking.

Yes I would be surprised if he walks considering the video evidence presented above. That is why I say I would like to hear how the defense is going to explain all of this away.

I don't see how that excuses murdering her? It could be an extenuating circumstance during sentencing but allowing him to walk?

A lot can go wrong in the collection of evidence, particularly in a complicated case like this. If CID screwed up or if the prosecutor didn't allow the defense attorney his due privileges with the evidence, then it can all be tossed. And, as obvious as the elevator video seems to us in the news article, what does it really prove? Did they recover the suitcase? If they did, was her hair or other physical material found inside it?

The good news is that any motions by the defense to suppress evidence should have already been completed. If the jury is seeing it then the judge has already passed it through the necessary legal muster.

Hey – GI, it all comes out in the wash doesn't it? This is what I posted when this story first came out, but you decided it was too far fetched or for some other reason removed it from the site. Anyhow, not everyone in this world deserves to live (and that's the bottom line)

Be careful with those girls on the Internet.

    Hey, hey, LG/KT Customer…

"She wasn't a juicy. They met on the internet before he came to Korea."

    You are kidding, right?

The Internet girls are a level of predator that juicys can only aspire to. If you think my comments are "crude and inappropriate", which may or may not be true, "She wasn't a juicy" is a very poor rationalization.

It is only because guys really, Really, REALLY want to believe, "No, I LIKE a bald guy and your big gut looks so cute and you have a great personality," that these predators are able to lure their prey… to "continue their education", for Sick Mom's Operation and sometimes even for marriage… where, at all stages, they siphon away whatever they can… from as many lonely losers as possible.

Like bars, the Internet is NOT the place to meet good girls. Good girls have guys lining up for them in the Real World.

There may be a sincere third-world girl out there on the Internet looking for a rich American husband who wants nothing for herself until she finds her one true love. This guy may have found her and he may have married her. He also may have gotten struck twice by lightening while collecting his lottery winnings.

Mostly, if there is a sincere girl out there, as soon as the other girls in the PC room start showing up with their new cellphones and fancy gold jewelry, the survival instinct takes over… and the Hunger starts.

I can't blame them, really. A couple of Momma's Operations can pull in more money than their father makes all year… times the ten suckers she has on the string.

But, if grifting and manipulation is your game, don't be surprised when someone else decides to play the game of murder… the ultimate manipulation.

It's fashionable to say, "nobody should be murdered for blah blah blah." But that is just opinion. We can argue the scale from jaywalking to babyraape. On some things we may agree. On others, such as setting out to ruin a guy's life who is backed into a corner because all social mechanisms favor the wife no matter how wrong she is, we may not agree.

So. My message was hardly crude or inappropriate. Based on published articles, probability and the Bamboo Telegraph, this girl did NOT have a heart of gold. There is no reason to be sensitive or coddling toward those in our global society who, through greed or ambition, intentionally hurt others… especially when their devious plans backfire.

An argument could even be made that we should celebrate their misfortune.

And GI… grow a pair, man.

I say YES – she most certainly deserved to die it was only a matter of time. I can tell you this, if it would have been me, I sure as heck wouldn't have let her go so peacefully, I would have drawn that out over months and months and I would have made her suffer. I say this because I know the facts of the case. You do not!

I have listened to some of you talk about rather my dad will walk or not, as if he is getting away with something. He is INNOCENT, period, and anyone who knows him knows that is the truth. I have read this crap since the beginning and don't appreciate the comments about my dad or Lea. Maybe you all would not have so much to say if it were your family being discussed.

    "disable comments"?

How about you don't look at them.

    Chris,

The best way to stop the rumors and idle talk is to put out the truth. Honestly, we are listening to whatever you have to say. Tell us the situation as you see it. The more clear you are, the faster the gossip will stop.

I'll tell you what,if the good Capt. can explain away the incriminating elevator camera then he deserves to walk. I'm not going to even mention the diphenhydramine evidence. Oops, I just did.

Since this is a male dominated blog, it's fashionable and satisfying to some to make examples of women as the root of men's evil. It's so Old Testament; so in common with radical Islam.

If you are familiar with what many men have come to call 'the game', you would have to admit that there has been just as much, if not more, predation, manipulation, and exploitation by men against women.

As a sociology experiment, spend a couple of nights in the ville bars and try to just observe objectively. Can you identify who is predator or prey?

Was this Capt only a naive dupe? He was not a fresh recruit. He was married before. He must have learned something about the ways of men and women. Often, these things don't work out. That's why we have a procedure called divorce.

When the police were investigating, they used the camera from the elevator then tracked his movements using the camera in the garage then the street. The last camera that caught him was less than 1 km from where he had dumped it. I guess he forgot about the cameras.

Sorry, but from what I see it looks premeditated. In this case, divorce would have been a fine option but instead he let her ruin his life even more.

Well, this is not the first case. I feel sorry for Capt. Gray that he choose a wrong lady to be his wife. I have heard that many girls out there are seeking for US citizenship, even some have a good heart of gold but some are whores and need only money!! I'm not American and I'm married to a soldier which he is not rich at all, and we're now planning to pay out his detb together. Anway, this kind of human will never deserve good like (bad gilrs, who cheat on their husband all the time). If I were Capt.gray, I would suffer her slowly and finally kick her back to the PH. killing is not a good chioice because muder will be convicted, eventualy. But if she was suffer by some other ways, this would hurt her enough, which she deserved it!

sorry, for this but I really hate this kind of girl!

Well, at least he got rid of his little "problem". I learned a long time ago to stay from these horrible gals who lie and cheat just for the sake of lying and cheating. I knew one who got caught sliding goods through the checkout lane, the cashier was her accomplice. She couldn't tell the truth to save the life of her, even though it was on VIDEO!

I can't respect any guy that's stupid enough to bring these little devils into the country. It's why America is turning into a piece of shite country.
