Here we go again with Chinese ships harassing American sonar vessels:
U.S. defense officials say Chinese vessels confronted a U.S. Navy surveillance ship in the Yellow Sea on Friday. Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman said Tuesday that the incident involving the USNS Victorious will be addressed diplomatically. Whitman said Chinese fishing boats performed dangerous maneuvers near the surveillance ship, which he said was conducting “routine operations” in the area.
Speaking earlier to reporters on condition of anonymity, pentagon officials said two Chinese boats came within less than 30 meters of the USNS Victorious. The defense officials said the U.S. ship used its water hoses to warn off the Chinese vessels.
The U.S. Navy says the Victorious is part of a special fleet of government-owned ships that use sonar equipment to help the U.S. Navy monitor underwater threats. A Navy Web site says the Victorious normally has a crew of 24 civilian contractors. [Chosun Ilbo]
This latest incidents comes on the heels of the incident in March of Chinese ships harassing a US Navy vessel.
Korea knows all to well how agressive these Chinese fishing vessels can be.

China is set to surpass the US in few short years.

Tom,
I doubt it. American supremacy is not restricted to the military field, but ranges to almost all fields of modern society like sport, culture, finance, science, diplomacy, etc.
Even if the USA starts a declining process from now on, it would take almost 100 years for China to take over USA's place completely as the world sole hegemony.
It would be like Korea trying to take over Japan’s place. It simply will not happen anytime soon (in Korean case, it will never happen, unless something dramatic occurs).

BTW, I don’t believe the USA is in a declining process. It’s just that it’s not the post WWII era anymore, and most countries recovered from the tragedy.

In what may I ask? And in how many years?
