I mentioned before on my prior posting about the Dokdo Museum about how the best part of the museum was the variety of old photographs of Ulleungdo that were hanging up in the museum. Below are a few of the pictures that were on display at the museum. The pictures did not have dates posted so I am no sure when they were in fact taken.
This first picture is of the port at Ulleungdo’s largest city of Dodong-ri:

Here is how the streets of Dodong-ri look today:
Here is how the Dodong-ri harbor looked like in 1960:

Here is how this same harbor looks today:
Here is a historic view of Dodong-ri viewed from above the town:

You can see in this image that Dodong-ri looks much different today:
Here is a historic picture of the small fishing village of Daeha-dong:

Here is how this fishing village with its impressive cliffs looks today:
Here is an ajushi with his old fishing boat:

As can be seen today ajushi has made catching fish a whole lot easier for himself with these fishing boats:
Here is an old picture of a Confucian Shrine if you look closely towards the center of the photograph:

Here is an example of a Confucian shrine on Ulleungdo today:
Here is old home on Ulleungdo Island:

Here is how the people of Ulleungdo now live today:
Here is an old picture of the fishing village of Sadang:
And finally here is a historic picture of the Nari Basin:

Here is how the basin looks like today:
Weren’t these old pictures a whole lot better to look at then forged Dokdo maps?

It's nice to see a place that isn't touched too hard by the modern world. Reminds me of Beaver Island in the northern part of Lake Michigan.
