Nation Wide Vigil to Be Held for Laura Ling & Euna Lee

» by in: North Korea

Via One Free Korea comes news that a nation wide vigil will be held for the two journalists Euna Lee and Laura Ling being held hostage in North Korea:

The Facebook page for Laura Ling and Euna Lee (which Lisa Ling has now taken over as administrator) is calling for vigils to take place everywhere on June 3, U.S. time, which is June 4 in North Korea – the date of the scheduled trials for Ling and Lee.

So far, vigil locations include Washington, D.C.; New York, NY; Birmingham, AL; Portland, OR; San Francisco and L.A., CA.

Organizers are also asking for help from willing volunteers. Contact information is posted on the group’s Facebook page linked above.

If you live in these areas please contact the organizers and attend these vigils.

Here is one guy we know probably won’t be supporting any vigil.

What the hell's the point of holding a vigil?

They don't look American to me.

But it's illegal for foreigners to demonstrate, unless it's antiUS and proKorea.

Maybe they weren't kidnapped from Chinese soil after all.

Maybe they weren't even arrested after sneaking across the North Korean boarder.

    Maybe they defected.

Perhaps Gore's elitist version of social-ism and class division was attractive-and-all in the States… but just wasn't extreme enough for their tastes.

Now they live in a system with many traits of the far-left paradise they strove to sell in their "reporting".

While Gore sits in his mansion and lectures us about making sacrifices to keep the planet cool, North Korean citizens actually do their part for the global village by having an enviably small carbon footprint…

…and now these two can share in the Green Paradise and Social-ist Equality that is North Korea.

Be safe and enjoy your reduced carbon emission winter, ladies.

You'd think they could find more flattering pix of these ladies. These same pix have been circulating for months now.

Knickerbocker I have wondered the same thing as well. The only thing I can think of is that the families of Lee and Ling are being told not to release in photos in order to keep the media attention down. From what I am hearing both families are being instructed to keep this issue as low key as possible by the State Dept.

Makes sense, GI. The less press it gets, the less perceived leverage Pyongyang has.
