Another month and more court martial results from USFK.  Not many court martials this month with two soldiers being convicted for assault and another soldier being acquitted of rape which is a trend I am seeing an increase in.

In the ROK criminal prosecutions the Sergeant involved in the Yongsan First Sergeant adultery case was also tried for committing a violent act in ROK criminal court.  You can read the comments of the above posting on what supposedly happened with SGT Gonzalez after his conviction.  USFK has yet to confirm any of it.  Besides that there was one larceny case and three traffic violations to include one by a Lieutenant Colonel which I’m sure he is pissed about.  Field grade officers and Sergeant Majors hate being on the blotter.  Anyway below are the court martial results:=

USFK Court-Martial Results for May 2009

At a special court-martial on 6 May 2009, Private First Class Matthew R. Shields, Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 168th Multi-Functional Medical Battalion, 19th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, was convicted of making a false official statement, and two specifications of assault consummated by battery.  He was sentenced to confinement for ninety (90) days.

At a special court-martial on 7 May 2009, Private First Class Aaron C. Goodin, Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 168th Multi-Functional Medical Battalion, 19th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, was convicted of two specifications of assault consummated by battery.  He was sentenced to perform hard labor for ninety (90) days.

At a general court-martial on 22 May 2009, Sergeant Walter S. Watkins, Jr., F Company, 3-2 General Support Aviation Battalion, Second Infantry Division, was acquitted of making a false official statement, two specifications of rape, and committing an indecent act.

Results of ROK Criminal Prosecutions for May 2009

In Seoul Central District Court on 1 May 2009, CPL Kwan T. Johnson, HHC, 2d Infantry Division, was convicted of traffic law violations.  His adjudged sentence was a 3,000,000 Won fine.

In Suwon District Court on 4 May 2009, LTC David C. Scofield of CSCT #3, was convicted of traffic law violations.  His adjudged sentence was a 2,500,000 Won fine.

In Seoul Central District Court on 19 May 2009, SGT Cuauhtemoc N. Gonzales, UNC Honor Guard Company, was convicted of a violation of the Act on the Punishment of Violent Acts.  His adjudged sentence was a 7,000,000 Won fine.

In Uijeongbu District Court on 20 May 2009, PVT Joel F. Gonzalez, Btry B, 1/15th FA, was convicted of larceny.  His adjudged sentence was a 500,000 Won fine.

In Seoul Central District Court on 22 May 2009, SFC Bobbie F. Martin of HHC, STB-K, was convicted of traffic law violations.  Her adjudged sentence was a 500,000 Won fine.
