NOTE: DATE CHANGED
June 29, 2009 RAS Lecture Meeting
Monday/??? Prof. Edward J. Baker7:30 p.m 2nd floor, Residents lounge
Somerset Palace, Seoul

(Coyner’s Comment: Due to lecture room availability, the RAS has changed this upcoming lecture date.  Harvard Prof. Ed Baker first came to Korea in the very first group of Peace Corps Volunteers in the mid 1960’s.  Returning to the US, Dr Baker joined the first few academicians who established Korea Studies as a respected discipline in some of America’s leading universities.

Also, circle Tuesday evening, July 7th, on your calendar for what promises to be another exceptional RAS date when Dr. B.R. Myers will give a heavily illustrated lecture on why most North Koreans sincerely love and respect Kim Jong-Il.)

This is one reason I'm limiting (for now) my job search to the Seoul area.

It's been awhile since I visited the site, because I've been on dialup for awhile, but a couple of years ago they started trying to add videos of the lectures.

If I do find a job in Seoul, I hope to see things like this and probably record some of it to get up on the net too…
